Work Samples
Below are selected work samples spanning my experience in behavioral design, coding, and academic research. Please reach out if you would like to learn more about my projects.
Behavioral Design
Penn OpenPass
As Penn transitioned back to in-person learning in Fall 2021, many students failed to comply with symptom reporting and bi-weekly testing mandates. Using Judgement & Decision Making concepts, my group developed interventions to encourage individual compliance and support public health.

ResEvasions
Using Bicchieri's Theory of Social Norms, my group and I designed a series of nudges to reduce the problem of library room no-shows at Penn. We propose using social influence and commitment devices to increase follow-through behavior and provide recommendations on how to operationalize these interventions.

Civic Engagement Blog
As an intern at Democracy International, a USAID contractor, I contributed to thought leadership activities by publishing blog posts on the use of behavioral science in development work. Here, I reflect on how behavioral insights can help simple awareness campaigns drive long-lasting change.

Code & Data Analysis
The Space Age
Using publicly available General Social Survey (GSS) data, I analyzed the relationship between age and sentiment on space exploration. I used R to conduct hypothesis testing and build a regression model to shed light on this fascinating research question.

r/CMV
I worked with four collaborators to scrape the Change My View subreddit and determine the characteristics associated with controversial viewpoints. Using Python, we conducted topic and sentiment analysis to uncover patterns of thought. We also built a model to predict whether a given view is changeable or not.

University Analysis
I used Google Trends data to analyze the popularity of
Hopkins, LSE and Penn. Using ggplot2, gtrendsR, ggsci and ggthemes, I wrote code in R to create sophisticated visualizations. I identify some interesting patterns, such as Hopkins' increase in popularity during the first Covid-19 lockdowns and a general uptick in inquiries during college application season.

Academic Research
Why Hast Thou Forsaken Me?
I worked in a team of six to conduct an MTurk experiment to test the effects of thinking style and self-efficacy on religiosity. Over the span of five months, we went through all stages of the scientific process, from literature review and experimental design to data analysis and report writing.

Saccadic Interference
As a research assistant at the Johns Hopkins Vision and Cognition Lab for 1.5 years, I worked on experiments investigating the effect of saccadic interference on peripheral vision. I recruited participants, collected data, analyzed results and wrote research summaries, an example of which is available below.
